Happy SECOND anniversary to Leading Within Systems of Inequity in Education: A Liberation Guide for Leaders of Color !!!

We are entering the terrible twos, and it’s time for some unstoppable energy and big feelings.

One would think that the novelty of Leading-Within would have worn off by now, but in the past week, several folks have requested that I speak to their class or leaders of color groups. I’m feeling blessed and highly favored.

12 Things I have (re)learned over the past year:

1. Word of mouth is unmatched marketing.

2. My U.S.-based work can travel- when I listen.

3. Talking with leaders in Ghana and across the continent lifts my spirit.

4. Book clubs and podcasts around my book? Next-level joy.

5. Co-presenting with others expands the learning.

6. Post-training chats often hold the gold.

7. Hitting #9 on Amazon- what a moment.

8. Returning to conferences brings new energy.

9. Nothing beats face-to-face connection.

10. Leaders of the global majority need space- now more than ever.

11. No photo? Didn’t happen- still true.

12. Signing my book never stops being cool.

Let’s Keep Going!

In a few short months, I will be submitting my manuscript for book #2. The book gives concrete strategies on how to manage challenging political contexts from the viewpoint of a student, family member, teacher, school leader, and superintendent. I’m excited about this newest endeavor, but Leading-Within will always be special as the first and will always be content I want to talk about and support.
